What a month!

Wow! What a month it has been for the Shelton family! So glad it is over. Through all of the struggles our family has gone through it has really caused me reflect on whats important. Thankfully our family is believers and we have the ability to turn everything over to the Lord, thank goodness for that...but why is it so hard to do sometimes? I have learned that I am even more of a worrier than I thought I was and I had a really hard time letting go of my fears this last month. I have always been a "Daddy's girl" and  it is very hard for me to see him in pain! I read and re-read Isaiah 35: 4 over and over this month. "Say to those with fearful hearts, be strong, do not fear; Your God will come. He will come with vengeance with devine retribution he will come to save you".  Also, Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dimayed, for I am your God. I will strenthen you and help you: I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".

I have spent a lot of time on my knees in prayer this month....God is good!

It is times like these that just make me so thankful that I have an awesome family. I have a wonderful husband and the perfect daughter and not only a great immediate family but I am so blessed to have such fabulous in laws who love the Lord and are such great examples of Christ's love. I also have great friends who really care about me and my family. There have been so many people who have called and e-mailed to check in to see how things are going and if there was anything they could do to help. They have diligently been in prayer and as we all know the power of prayer is great. I have so much to thankful for and I pray I do not lose sight of those things...even when times are tough.

Please continue to pray for healing over the months to come... my grandparents should be moved up here April 1st, yeah!! I have missed them desperately.

50th percentile!!!

Reagan has always been in the 5th-10th percentile on the growth chart. Today she had a well baby appointment and believe it or not she is just shy of the 50th percentile!!! Wow, has she grown. She now weights 24 lbs 5 ozs and is 32 inches tall.

A VERY rare sight!

It is very rare for Reagan to ever stop what she is doing long enough to actually just CRASH! We like to document these rare occasions.

When mommy's are in the shower little girls will play!

I jumped in the shower real quick this morning while Reagan was playing quietly in her play room. This is what I saw when I got out of the shower this morning. She had used my eye liner pencil to decorate her face. Pretty funny! It could have been much worse I know. Luckily no marks on clothes, furniture and walls.

First hair cut

Most of you all know Reagan has quite a bit of hair for a little girl her age. She has been needing a little trim for a while but haven't wanted to chance cutting off any of her cute little curls! I got up the nerve last night to trim her hair. It was much more difficult to do than I thought. I tried to keep her still by allowing her to chew on her tooth brush while attempting to cut her hair straight. I'm pretty sure I gave her some unintentional layers! :0) I didn't get very many pictures since dad wasn't around while I was cutting her hair. I didn't want to tell Than until afterwards because I knew he would freak out. I have cut Than's hair a few times and it never turned out well! Ooops!

This is Reagan's hair after being blown dry. Not bad right? We even saved some of her curls!

New Words

Over the last week or so Reagan has really started saying a lot of new words. When she was real young we taught her some basic words in sign language. For the longest time she would just sign those words instead of saying them so when she started actually saying them we were quite excited.

Here are some of her words:

Mama
Dada
Papa
Puppy
Poopoo :0)
thank you
Just kidding
hot
cheese
no
mine
baby (not all the time but we are working on it, most of the time she says mama instead....grrr..)
Why
more
please
up
teeth
eyes
nose
cat
pretty
toes

I am sure I am missing a lot of them but those are the basic ones she says often.
